Here is a little bit about our Chef of the House owners!
For Love & Food!
Chef of the House is a kitchen studio that offers hands on cooking classes, kids camps, parties, events, & corporate team building activities.
Kathleen & Tate Roussel met in culinary school. The couple has been cooking and teaching cooking classes for the past 2 decades. They have always dreamed of opening a space dedicated to food and sharing their love of cooking with others.

Chef Kathleen
Chef Kathleen Roussel is an Instructor of the Culinary Arts Program at Pearland ISD & the Owner/Founder of Chef of The House Cooking School. She is a classically trained chef who holds the prestigious Le Grande Dipolme and a degree from Le Cordon Bleu. She has 20 plus years in the Culinary and Food & Beverage management field. She loves teaching and molding the minds of our future culinarians. In Chef Kathleen’s free time she enjoys working out, dancing Zumba and spending time with her husband, their son Gunnar and her dogs, Cookie & Lilly.
Chef Tate
Chef Tate Roussel is Director of the Culinary Arts Program for CCISD & the Owner/Co-founder of Chef of The House Cooking School. He is a Food Scientist with a BS degree in Food Science & Nutrition from LSU and classically trained chef who holds the prestigious Le Grande Dipolme and a degree from Le Cordon Bleu. He has 25 plus years of experience in the Culinary Field. He loves teaching the science behind food and the impact they have on our bodies. In Chef Roussel’s free time, he enjoys working out, watching, playing & coaching sports as well as spending time with his wife, their son Gunnar, & his dogs Cookie & Lilly.
